Today is a monumental day at our house. . . It's trash day! Isn't it such a lovely feeling to put all the grungy, mucky stuff on the curb and away it goes. It does wonders for the fung shui in my home:) On a normal day our trash can is bubbling over with grass clippings, diapers & school papers. As I cram everything in I pray the breeze won't pick up and blow everything into my neighbor's immaculate lawn. But today was different. Today is monumental. As I hurried out in my night clothes trying to beat the garbage guy, I opened the lid to add one last bag and I realized I was adding the ONE AND ONLY bag. Is that big or what? Ok so I'm not quite as cool as ENVIROMOM who has one trash can a month. Nor do I ever think I could catch up to the Green Grandma who only puts out half a can each YEAR. But I am living proof that a few small changes around the house can really add up. I don't feel like it's been that hard. I've had renewed energy to support our local recycling bin & I've added a lot to our compost this week & I tried to buy more things in bulk to cut down on packaging. The end. Not too bad, right? I was so elated I wanted a picture with my trash bag. But I was in my night clothes & it was a bag of rubbish & my husband was already raising an eye brow at my giddiness over trash, so I took a picture of our recycle bins. Happy Trash Day!
